adorned only on one side by a picture of the item, Yoda's name, and the Attakus logo (click here for a picture). The top of the box also had the word "Yoda" on it, and the left side of the box featured a label with the individual numbering of the item. The box provided more than adequate protection for the fragile item it contained.

Appearance : If you've seen the pictures, then you know what to expect. This is a very
high quality sculpt of Yoda, with no wrinkle or texture having gone unnoticed. The statue is placed on an elegant black base, and has a plaque on the bottom touting the statue's limited production run (1,500) and its individual numbering. The fabulous paint job is also worth mentioning; the colors are dead-on, and everything is carefully detailed. One negative aspect I could mention is that Yoda's face looks somewhat slim compared to how he looks in the classic trilogy, but this is really nitpicking. The item measures about 6 1/2 " from base to head.

Features and Accesories : This isn't a toy, so there's not much in the way of extras. The statue is made of cold-cast porcelain, which gives it a distinctive sheen, and captures all the details of the original well. As I've already mentioned, the series is limited to 1500 units, and each is individually numbered in three places : the box, the Certificate of Authenticity, and the statue itself.

Overall : In a series where the bulk of licensed materials are aimed towards children, it's nice to see such an adult collectible released. It's the kind of thing a fan can have on his desk at work and not be ashamed. However, you would have to be a big fan, because the cost of these pieces is high. At $140, Yoda is the least expensive of the bunch, meaning that die-hard collectors who want to own the whole set better have deep pockets. Despite the impressive quality of the item, it seems a bit overpriced, considering there are similar items from other licenses available at only a fraction of the cost. In comparison to the number of Star Wars collectors out there, a production run of 1,500 is limited, but the steep cost should ensure that those who want it have ample time to make their purchase. It's a great item, but only for the truly devoted fan and collector.
