ESB tin lunch box review

Since there hasn't been much to report, I've written up a review of the only new Yoda-related item I've been able get my hands on : the Hallmark mini lunch box. You can read it here.

November 24

New Wallpaper

A kickin' portrait of Yoda was just added to the Wallpapers. Many thanks  to Grzesiek from Theed Museum for letting us use it!
November 23

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

I hope everyone out there has a lot to be thankful for! I'd personally like to thank all you regular visitors and Yoda fans since you're the reason I keep this site up! Have a good one!

November 22

Kubrick / Medicom Star Wars figures?

Raving Toy Maniac recently added pictures of some very cool Kubrik / Medicom style Star Wars figures. These likely unlicensed toys are definitely a cut above your usual bootlegs, and Yoda is among the twelve figures made. Click here to check out the pictures.  I'm supposed to be receiving a set of these, so check back to Yoda World soon for even more detailed pics.

November 19

Even more wallpapers

Two new Yoda desktop wallpapers have been added courtesy of my friend Phoenix from The Phoenix Pyre. Be sure to visit Phoenix's  site for dozens more great Star Wars wallpapers.
November 18

Site update

I added a great new desktop image to the Wallpapers page. This one features art by Edvin Biukovic from the fantastic Dark Horse adaptation of The Last Command. This completes the fifth page of wallpapers. Look for a sixth page very soon.

November 16

Cheap Interactive Yoda

Yakface.com posted their deal of the day, and it just happens to be an Interactive Yoda for just $19.99 at EBWorld.com! If you've been holding out for this one, now's your chance.

New Yoda mouse update

Mike from Orlando, Florida wrote in with this info:

I stopped by a Game Stop store recently, and while I didn't find the Yoda mouse, I did find a Darth Maul mouse. It's just a regular two-button mouse with a picture of Maul on it, and it's made by American Covers.

Sorry, no scan with that, but this does confirm that Episode I mice do exist, so keep looking. And if anyone finds Yoda, be sure to report it.

Site updates

The Wallpapers page was updated with a couple of new desktop images, and I added a very cool new piece to the Customs page.
November 4

New Wallpaper

This time it's a non-Yoda wallpaper, but it's such a great image that I just had to add it. Head to the Wallpapers section to download it.

November 2

New Jedi Order Forums

In order to make this the place for all you Yoda fans, Yoda World has partnered with The New Jedi Order Forums to give all you Yoda fans a place to discuss all things Star Wars. From now on you can access them from the
Miscellaneous
section of the menu. Head on over, post something, and have fun.
October 31

Happy Halloween!

Have a safe and happy halloween!

New Poll

The last poll ended with the majority of you wanting Yoda to keep his classic costume for the rest of the prequels. This time the poll asks: What color do you think Yoda's lightsaber should be? Vote, and let Yoda fans know your opinion.

October 30

Star Wars resin statues

It appears we'll get a neat new Yoda collectible just in time for Christmas.
Attakus Collection
in France will be producing resin statues of popular Star Wars characters sculpted at Bombyx Studios, one of which will feature Yoda. Click here for a picture. They're not cheap, but they look very well made and seem worthwile additions to any collection. Check out the Attakus Collection website for pictures and more information.
October 28

New mouse?

Well, first of all, the response to the forums was, <ahem> shall we say, underwhelming. Guess it's not ready for the prime time yet, but you know what? It's staying up! Feel free to post something if you're feeling frisky.

Now, back to the business at hand. I heard an Episode I Yoda computer mouse was found at a GameStop store recently. I haven't seen it myself, though, so if anyone has a picture, please send it over. I don't know if this is actually a new release or just something I missed from the first wave of prequel merchandise, but it's something to look out for.
October 23

Yoda World Forums

Not much to report, so I decided to experiment and add a message board to the site, just to see how it goes. There are no topics on there yet, but feel free to add your own and discuss anything Yoda or Star Wars related. This is by no means a permanent part of the site yet. It depends on whether anyone actually cares, so feel free to participate and send feedback. Anyway, check it out and have fun.

October 22

Orange Snake Tri-logo Yoda

You read that right. It seems that these actually do exist, and one went up for auction on ebay yesterday. It's definitely one of the rarest vintage variations ever, and it's already too rich for my pockets. The auction includes a very nice picture of the item, so click here to see it out for yourself.

October 16

New Micro Collection Yoda pictures

The Star Wars Collector's Archive has recently added some interesting new Yoda items to their site. One of the coolest is a new picture of a conceptual Micro Collection Yoda, which unfortunately went unproduced (see the
Bootlegs/Unproduced
section for more information on these toys). Other Yoda highlites include a scan of an action figure retailer catalog insert, and pictures of an Interactive Yoda prototype.  Cool stuff.
October 13

Another Wallpaper

This one features some of the coolest art ever to grace a Micro Machines Star Wars toy box. You can find it in the Wallpapers section.

October 12

New desktop image

Head over to the Wallpapers section to download it. Expect another one soon.

October 9

Mini Yoda

Here's a silly little web site you may have missed : Mini Pops. They take popular artists or characters and draw them really small. All Star Wars characters are in the Minipops S-Z section. Definitely a fun site to visit, and be sure to check out all your other non-Star Wars favorites as well.
October 7

Schwarzenegger vs. Yoda

Arnold Schwarzenegger's official site received a question posing this hypothetical showdown, and Arnold himself decided to answer! The question and Arnold's response are very funny (plus you can tell he's a fan!) so hit the link above to check it out for yourself.

October 2

New poll

The old poll ended wth 65% of you wanting some of Yoda's past to be revealed, while the other 35% wanted to keep the mystery. I added a new poll today, and even though it seems simple, I think I should explain the thinking behind it. Until now, the only attire Yoda has used in the films has been the cream/tan robe. Of course, we all know this is the Jedi uniform, but unfortunately it limits the amount of Yoda toys that get made. I mean, let's face it : we got our Episode I Yoda toy, and we shouldn't expect another from Hasbro until Episode II. And personally, I'm tired of the Jedi robes; each Jedi should have his personal wardrobe, I think. So what do you think? Cast your vote to let us know.
October 1

Yoda prototypes

Those of you who enjoy collecting prototypes or like to see how a toy evolves from concept to collectible should check out the Cinicinnati Toy Museum. Of particular interest to Yoda fans are some new shots of the unproduced
pull-string talking Yoda
and some cool concept heads for the vintage Yoda puppet which are strikingly different from what was actually made. Both can be found in the New Additions page of the Toy Gallery.
