And the best Star Wars actor is...

The Official Site recently updated its poll, allowing you to pick who you think is the best actor in the Star Wars trilogy. Guess who's currently second? Yoda! It's hard to argue against good ol' Sir Alec being the best, but either way, head on over and make your vote heard for your favorite. Let's keep Yoda in the battle!

Attakus statues at new Fan Club

The brand new Official Fan Club has opened its virtual doors, and they're set to receive the very cool set of Attakus statues for sale. The best news is, the prices are identical, so if you're having trouble getting Yoda from overseas, you'll soon get another option. If you'd like to be notified when they're finally available, you can head over there and sign up.

February 25

New Hallmark ornament available

There hasn't been much to report lately, but Yodafans.net is still very much alive! In case you haven't heard, the newest Star Wars Keepsake ornament happens to be a miniature ESB tin lunch box. It's virtually identical to its previous School Days series ESB lunch box, but this time it's even smaller and includes a tiny thermos! Pretty cool, and it's still available on-line at
Hallmark.com
, so you won't even have to get up to find it!

New poll

I've put up a new poll in order to alleviate the boredom. The previous one ended with the mayority of you (41%) being undecided about the new Jedi, 36% liking her already, and 23% disliking her. The new poll asks the question : Where does Yoda give his best performance? Personally, I like Empire, but whether you agree or disagree, head on over and vote!

Attakus statues arrive!

Well, after a small wait the most recent Yoda collectible has finally arrived. If you've been eyeing the pictures with intent, but haven't decided whether to order yet, check out the review and see if it helps you make up your mind.

Also, for those of you wary of placing an overseas order with Attakus.com, I should comment on my experience with them. While the company is based in France, language was never a problem, since my e-mails to them were promptly answered in english. While they didn't immediately confirm receipt of payment via e-mail as was stated in the order form, a quick inquiry corrected that, and I not only received an apology but also had my order status updated several times before receiving my UPS tracking number. All in all, a pain free experience.

Attakus statues to begin shipping

According to an e-mail from Attakus.com, their great Star Wars statues should begin shipping next week. Those of you who pre-ordered should be the first to get them. If you still haven't ordered, you can do so through their web site if you live in France, or you can ask for an order form through e-mail if you live elsewhere. Check back soon for a review on the Yoda version of the statue to see if it's worth your hard-earned cash.

Radio interview at TheForce.net

Those of you who missed the outrageous WFMU interview with the Lucasfilm stool pigeon have another chance, as it's now being hosted at
TFN
. Though it's probably a hoax, it's worth a listen if you don't mind spoilers and like some entertainment.

January 16

It's all on the radio...

Well, the big buzz all over the net now is that notorious radio interview with a supposed Lucasfilm ex-employee at WFMU.org.  It was a very interesting chat which may or may not have been a hoax. Unfortunately, it has been removed due to overwhelming traffic. I managed to hear the whole thing before it happened, and he did mention some spoiler tidbits worth repeating if you missed it. Highlight below for the spoilers:

Well, biggest of all was the supposed Episode II title : Veil of the Sith.
Seems plausable, until you realize that VeiloftheSith.com has not been reserved by Lucasfilm. Seems strange that they'd overlook this, doesn't it?

He also goes on to mention several rumors which have been mentioned elsewhere, but he comes through with some Yoda tidbits not heard before. Apart from confirming his intervention in a battle scene, he mentions that several scenes in Episode II show Yoda overseeing stages of the Jedi trials, and that in some of them he brandishes his lightsaber! Pretty cool if it turns out to be true, and definitely plausible.

Other interesting / shocking bits he mentioned were the filming of racy content between Anakin and Padme, and the fact that as he saw it, a rough cut of the film would get an R rating.

Like I said, interesting stuff, though keep in mind that there's a good chance he's making all of it up. In the anonymous guest's defense though, a lot of it sounds quite plausable, so I guess we'll see.

New Poll

The old submit version of the poll just wasn't quite working like it should have, so I've replaced it with a new one on our Episode I Yoda look-alike, Yaddle. I'd still like to know what the favorite Yoda collectible is out there for a future poll, so e-mail me with your choice and we can put this one to rest once and for all!
January 12

The Jedi fate

More Episode II rumors on the Jedi have turned up. Highlight below to read them:

According to a synopsis on The Virtual Edition,  Yoda rescues Anakin and Obi-Wan from the new Sith Lord in a scene in Episode II! Keep in mind that it's still just a rumor, but it seems as if Yoda uses nothing but his mastery of the Force to keep the attacker at bay and free the Jedi from a trap.

It also appears that Episode II is the beginning of the Jedi extermination, as it is rumored that Yoda, Mace Windu, Plo Koon, and Ki-Adi-Mundi are the only council members to reach the end of the film.

It is also rumored that Yoda gets the last line in the film (yay!).

You can view the entire spoiler filled synopsis here.

Episode II Yoda rumors

TheForce.net recently added this little tidbit about the new prequel:

Word from Australia this week is that a girl named Peta stood in for Yoda during scenes where he should have been had Frank Oz been available for the shoot. He will be replaced by CGI over the actress, and it is not known whether or not the services of the actress will be needed for reshoots coming up in the near future.

This doesn't reveal much other than apparently confirming Yoda's CGI presence. Keep in mind, though, that these are still rumors. Interesting, nonetheless.

Cool snow sculpture

Yakface.com posted this picture of a very nice snow Yoda sent in by a fan a few days ago, but I forgot to report on it. Most impressive.

New poll

The last poll ended in a virtual deadlock, with 32% of you wanting Yoda to battle with a lightsaber, 32% believing Yoda shouldn't fight, and 34% wanting Yoda to battle with the Force. I need your help on this new one, so this time it's a little different. Rather than limiting your options to my favorites, send me yours and I'll list the results in a future post.

"The Hidden" review

The appearance of a post-prequel Yoda in a Star Wars comic is cause for cheer in Star Wars fans, since we're all itchin' to know what consequences led our favorite Jedi Master to Dagobah and what he lived like, but unfortunately "The Hidden", from Star Wars Tales 6, leaves much to be desired. The premise is simple : one of the probe droids launched at the beginning of The Empire Strikes Back lands on Dagobah and meets up with Yoda. The encounter is brief, as Yoda makes short work of the droid, but a transmission did manage to get through to an Imperial Star Destroyer...

While the story's premise is interesting, the fact is that it's much too brief. There's hardly any dialogue, and most will probably finish reading it in a couple of minutes at most. However, the story is not without its merits. Most notably, it features an appearance by a lightsaber wielding Yoda. (This isn't the first appearance by Yoda's lightsaber in a comic. Yaddle's story, "The One Below" in Star Wars Tales 5 features all members of the council lifting their lightsabers in homage to Yaddle, including Yoda and his yellow lightsaber. So much for continuity. However, the comic itself states that Star Wars Tales is just a place for some creative stories, and is not part of the official canon.) The surreal, moody artwork is also impressive, and does justice to the murky atmosphere of Dagobah. The other stories in this issue of SW Tales are very good, with some great artwork throughout.

The truth is, the mere appearance of Yoda is enough for fans to pick up this issue. Let's just hope his next encounter won't be so brief.

Holiday Wallpapers

TheForce.net's Holiday Art Contest concluded yesterday, and they're now chock full of new images. I've put up two of my favorites in the Wallpapers section. Use them to liven up your desktop this holiday season. Many thanks to Ed and Jon for their great work. If you'd like to add your work to the site, be sure to submit it, and if you like the wallpapers, visit TFN for more.

More on Star Wars Tales 6

There are several versions of this cool new comic available, including a
Yoda photo cover
. Yoda's story, a collaboration between Sean Konot and Scott Morse, tells of an unexpected probe droid visit on Dagobah. It also has stories featuring Boba Fett, Darth Vader, and C-3PO. Sounds cool, so be sure and pick it up if you have the chance.

Interactive Yoda for $9.99

You read right! Amazon.com has the Interactive Yoda in stock for just $9.99! That's about as low as anyone can expect it to get, so if you've been waiting to get yours or simply want an extra, head on over and buy it.

Make your own Santa Yoda

A big part of Star Wars fandom is expressing your love for the movies, and I know a lot of you do that by making custom figures. Well, in the spirit of the holidays, I've put up a custom cardback I made for a vintage style Santa Yoda. I hope to put up a full recipe soon, but in the meantime those of you with experience can download it here and begin work! If you've never made a custom figure before, and would like more information, check out the
Forgotten Force Resource Guide
. I also added some Christmas images of Yoda to the Art Gallery, so be sure to check them out as well.

Yoda in Star Wars Tales

It seems the latest issue of the Dark Horse comic Star Wars Tales has a story featuring Yoda. While I've not seen it myself, I've been told Yoda brandishes a purple saber for the story. Could it be a clue for the prequels? Only time will tell. Be sure to pick the issue up and see for yourselves.

Attakus statues delayed

It seems these items will be shipping in January, not this December as was originally planned. On a brighter note, Attakus.com is already taking pre-orders, and they are available to people outside of France. Just visit their site and e-mail them asking for a reservation form. The first statues to be available are R2, Han Solo in Carbonite, Boba Fett, Darth Maul, and of course, Yoda. The prices are steep, but the statues look amazing.

Episode II Yoda rumors

Yodajeff.com updated recently with some very interesting Yoda rumors.  They may be considered spoilers, so highlight below to read them:

According to an extra for Episode II, scenes with Yoda fighting were filmed. However, the scenes aren't part of the story itself, but rather a flashback. Apparently, Yoda will be fully CG in these scenes.

Wow! Great news if it's true! There's also this quote from Samuel Jackson :

"There's only one person in the universe that's better with a lightsaber than I am, and he happens to be a little green man."

This Episode II thing is just getting exciting!

Well, my friend Sidster from Yakface.com told me that he's trying to find out if there are other venues, so hopefully we'll have an answer soon. If you're interested in this item, be sure to stay tuned to Yakface and Yoda World for any updates.

Site updates

I just got the new Star Wars VCDs, and I decided to make a desktop image from the nifty cover art on Return of the Jedi. You can download it from the

While they didn't immediately confirm receipt of payment via e-mail as was stated in the order form, a quick inquiry corrected that, and I not only received an apology but also had my order status updated several times before receiving my UPS tracking number. All in all, a pain free experience.
